Holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Science (specializing in Bioethics). She is a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her research focuses on death in medical practice and ethical dilemmas regarding end-of-life decisions. She is the author of "Práctica y ética de la eutanasia" (FCE); co-author of "Un adiós en armonía" (Grijalbo) and "Decisiones médicas sobre el final de la vida en pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer" (Fontamara)—the latter with Isaac González and Joaquín Gutiérrez—and author of "Por un buen final" (Palabras y Plumas Editores). She served as President of the Colegio de Bioética, A.C. from 2021 to 2024. She is currently the president of Libertad para Morir, A.C. and the World Federation of Right to Die Societies.
